A little guide for a smooth start.
To ensure you have the most relaxing and creative experience, here are a few things to keep in mind before you arrive at the studio:
Hand Care · This is the most important tip: Short fingernails make wheel throwing much easier. Long nails can accidentally "carve" into your wet clay and make centering a bit tricky.
What to Wear · Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little "muddy." While clay washes out easily and we provide aprons, it’s best to leave your favorite silks at home.
Jewelry · Rings, bracelets, and watches are best left at home or tucked safely in your bag, as they can get in the way (and covered in clay) during the process.
Hair · If you have long hair, bring a hair tie along so it doesn't get in your face while you're focusing on the wheel.
Arrival · The studio doors open 10 minutes before we start. Arrive early to settle in, grab a tea, and find your spot.
